Default Nexus 7 in XJR

Hi all,

So my next project is to mount a Nexus 7 on the top of the dash, and to use it for audio, nav, and diagnostics.

From the tablet, there'll be an OTG Y cable which will send audio out via USB to a USB DAC, which I'll then send to the car's head unit using one of these: AUX-JAGCD Auxiliary input Adapter for Select Jaguar with CD Auto Changer :: iPod Adapters & Interfaces

The other half of the OTG Y cable will be carrying power. Because the requirements for the tablet are a bit above the cigarette lighter charger realm (i'm also going to be powering a USB hub for an external HD with all the music on it, and whatever else I can think of connecting via USB down the track - reverse camera maybe?), I bought one of these:
DCDC-USB-200, Intelligent DC-DC converter with USB interface

The power is where I'm a bit stuck though. A bit of reading suggested that there might be a 12v accessories power socket behind the glovebox, which would be brilliant. This is where I wanted to put the hard drive, USB DAC and USB HUB anyway. This was the document I found: http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepa...owerSocket.pdf. I had a bit of trouble finding the connector described in panel 14 - this is where I need help!

A) I've attached a photo - is what I've got a hold of the 12V connector in question?
B) Which wires do I need to tap into? I've got blue, black, red, white and grey here.

On my car it's on the passenger side but may be they did not move it for left hand drive so look on the driver side for you

Good call, from memory mine has a standard black connector with heavier gauge wire, black and red - the two you're holding look to be glove box illumination connectors, you could use these for very small draw but the acc socket is better suited.

Thanks all. My car is a right hand drive, so curious as to why I could not find it if Sean could!

Anyway, if I can't run power from behind the glovebox, my back-up plan was to use the cigarette lighter power - i've got a burnt out lighter anyway.

Any ideas how I might access this?

I wired in the AUX connection today and that tests great. All I need before I put the tablet in is a power source...
