I took out the dash instrument pack (speedometer etc) to change the light bulbs as 2 were not working. There are 8 there, 4 big, 4 small.Thought everything was cool, a successful improvement. THe green dash icon fo rthe side lights was working before.

Then the side lights icon (the green one) I noticed would not come on. All the dash icons come on at start up EXCEPT the green sidelights one, nor does it come on when the sidelights are switched on at the stalk. The lights operate on the car as normal, only the dash icon does not light up.
I checked for loose wiring at the 2 main connectors to the instrument pack, no luck. I checked the new light bulbs, even reinstalled the old ones what were working on that side of the dash, again , no luck.
THe dash icons for the main bean, brake, left/right indicators all work, even the dimmer.


There are 2 small light dash bulbs on that side of the instrument pack, and one big one. I believe there may be little "doors" that funnel the light from these bulbs to the appropriate dash icon area, but I only theorise about that. I noticed if I took out a bulb and shined a torch light in there that certain dash icons would light up, and as there are more dash icons that light bulbs on the back I think there are magic little doors in there.
Could it be that one of these doors has become stuck shutting off light to the GREEN side light area?


Should I open the instrument pack up?
