i am the new owner of a 2000 xjr, the radio has not worked at all since i got the car about a week ago. all the wiring seems to be there from what i can tell, and all the fuses check out fine. Today i looked in the trunk next to the battery and there is some kind of male plug connected to 3 wires, look like power constant ground (blue/yellow, green/brwn, and black) . located right next to the battery. yet i cant seem to find aywhere it plugs into, could this be for the stereo and if so where does it plug? also there is a thinner white/bluestripe wire with a female flat speaker type end, where does this plug also? i hope this might bring me closer to solving this prob. thanks much

The fuses for the radio are under the rear seat heal boards. The power in my 99 XJ8 stereo would cut out and completely die every 15-30 minutes and randomly come back on. Tried fixing it but could not find a problem with the wiring. Finally decided to replace the stereo and everything works great now. My OEM stereo was just on its last leg.
