My 2000 xj8 vdp has decided it likes the oldies station and will not change. I can play a cassette but cannot remove it untill I turn the car off. The display panel does not work. The only thing that works is the volume. This only happened last week. Before that I had no issue with the radio. Could there be a connection to a faulty cd player? P.S. the cassette player is inconsistant with playing speed. Is there an easy fix for that once I get the rest of the radio running.

 

My radio decided to work again. All I did was remove the fuse , inspect it and put it back in. I don't know if there was a bit of dirt on it or by removing it the radio rebooted. However it all works well now and the cassette player runs at a uniform speed again.

Radios are about 50 bucks on the junkyard I frequent (no market for them). When the time comes......cheap, and easy swap.
