1967 Jaguar Mark X/420G Classic Drive - Motor Trend Classic
1967 Jaguar Mark X/420G Classic Drive - Motor Trend Classic
A big car for the USA market, and surprisingly brisk in manual form, sad to admit I scrapped a couple after raiding for parts, but did enjoy owning a squadron blue 420G - sold it to a real enthusiast of the model so hopefully still around.
Another very nice saloon from around the same period was the more compact Daimler Sovereign 420, effectively a fancier S type, then another world beater in the form of the XJ series. I can't think of another car apart from Porsche 911 that has a brand identity lineage as distinct or long lived.
And to think, they where borne out of the necessity of golf club bags fitting in trunks for the USA market!
