Default OBD II Code - P1647

I have a 2002 XJ Sport. The check engine light came on and I got a P1647 on my code reader. I searched the internet and came up with "P1647 Linear O2 Sensor Control Chip (Bank 2)". Is Bank 2 the driver's side or the passenger? Is this code for the front (upstream?) or rear (downstream?) sensor?
Thanks,
Chris

The P1647 reports that the heater has failed in the left bank upstream 02 sensor. Common issue in older, high mileage cars, just replace but can be a real trial in getting to it.

Thanks for the help. When you refer to the left bank, is that the driver's side?

In the US it is. When you are discussing a British made car you have to be very specific when identifying 'driver side'.
