Default Offset 38?

Hello everyone!

New to the forum here, and probably first time ever joining a forum! Aaaand i have a question about wheels like alot of people here i guess...

I own a Jaguar XJR '99 and have been looking into a new set of wheels, but the ones i want are 19" with the correct PCD 5/120.65 and bore 74.1 and are 8,5J but the ET/Offset is 38.

The tyres I was thinking to use was the regular 255/40 but 19" instead of 18". I have searched through som threads here on the forums, i have also used the tyre calculator with the following settings:
Current:
255/40/R18 ET33 (because Penta wheels)
New: 255/40/R19 ET38
The only difference was 1" larger, which I don't understand if that is going to fit or not?

I have tried alot to actually understand this with ET/Offset, but i really do have a hard time to understand it. Even with pictures lol

/Will

The wheel offset is the distance between the centre of the wheel (centre of the wheel width) and the face of the wheel flange that sits against the hub (on the car). Larger offset, the wheel sits more in; smaller offset, more out.

The wheel bore should be 73.8 mm, not 74.1. These are the wheel sizes for the XJR:
