I have 225/40 18" tires on penta wheels on my Xjr. I want to change to Asteroid wheels instead but do they have the same width ? I think they came with 255 original. Will the 225 tires fit and look good on Asteroid wheels ?

Penta and Asteroids are the same dimensions.
However, 225/40 are wayy too skinny (especially the tiny side wall), you should have 255/40 (OEM) or 245/45 (slightly better filling the wheel wells).

 

I put 245 40 18 up front, you can tell they're smaller, doesn't look right.

 

You can run 225/45-18 tires on the Asteroids. I have a set with that combination. I have a set of Pentas with the factory 255/40-18, and do agree that they "look" like the fit/fill up the tire well better, but the skinnier 225s work and handle just fine. Note that if you go to the 225, you want a 45 profile.
