Default one less XJR100 in the world

Good afternoon, my fellow Jaguar brotherhood.

with the heavy heart, I have to report there has an accident over the past weekend and my XJR100 had a frontal impact and dame entire front but everything beyond the radiator was not impact.

I wasn't my fault on the accident and Jag did its duty to save me. miraculously , I walked out the car without a scratch(yes, believe in it, our X308 is made of strong British steel)
at the moment, I really don't have to funding and more importantly time to restore the car.

but I really can not just send this historical XJR100 to the junkyard.

I may want to sell this car in one piece if anyone want to repair or reuse of the unique options on XJR100, you know what they are, BBS wheels, Brembo calipers. suspension, red stitching interior.

No collision insurance?

Mine will not allow buy back .... maybe you are going after other policy holder? .. they sometimes allow buy back. I guess the wheels and brakes are worth something ... interior worth is condition dependent.

I am still weighing all available options in minimize my total loss. I am even stilly enough thinking to contact Jaguar Motor if they can buy back to rest of the car or offering any assistance.

realistically, I can also swap most of the XJR100 to my another BRG"regular" XJR(of course a X308)

some of you know about that car of mine as well.

Which wheels? I'm still looking for a second set of BBS's... pipe dreams etc etc

Realistically though, sounds like you need to find a mechanically straight XJR with a ruined interior and swap all of your goodies over. It won't be a true XJR100, but it will live on in spirit

I'm sorry to hear about your accident, I had a major smash in my first X308. Although the car was literally bent out of shape, I walked away from it. Very tough and safe cars IMO.

Have you got a photo of your accident?

I think you may be in a position to make a lot of money off selling parts if you choose to go down that route though.

Sorry for the loss..
But on a happier note it's interesting to see another 100 owner who also has a BRG XJR.
And on top of that, one of the 100's I have has heavy front end damage.
The car came front Nevada and is a really clean body otherwise, but with 195k on the clock it really isn't worth fixing.
I've thought about the complete swap to make the 98 a 100 clone, but is it worth it??

Sorry to hear about your 100

It would be really cool if you could swap all of the stuff onto your other car. I've never seen a BRG x308 with a black interior, or one with Brembo brakes. I think the Montreal wheels would look really cool on a BRG car as well.

I don't think your insurance company would have a problem with you stripping it. When I totaled my Acura, the insurance guy said it just needed to have 4 wheels so it could roll. I could have taken the engine, brakes, etc. But, being 16, I was too dumb to do that

If it comes down to stripping the car, I would look online and buy some extra spare tire assemblies. Pick up 3 of them, and use them in conjunction with the spare from the 100. That way you don't have to send any factory alloy wheels to the scrapyard.

The BBS wheels that came equipped on all of the 100's are 19" Montreals.

one could opt for the optional 20's

Auto correct, I think the 20's were on the XKR-100

Your spare has a different wheel? My spare is a full size tire with a wheel that is identical to the other 4 wheels (which are oem factory originals for a post-Y2k vdp)

Yup. The factory spare in my 02 is bright red, made of steel, and it has a label stating that you can't go over 50kph. It has a very skinny little tire made by Pirelli. Looks like this>

Jaguar Aston Martin Pirelli Spare Wheel Tire 135/80/R18 MJC6119AA 36122267AA | eBay

I also purchased another one recently. I had sent both of my passenger side wheels off to be refurbished, and I decided that I didn't want one corner sitting up on jackstands. I'm glad I went ahead and did that, because the refurb process ended up taking 6 weeks.

I'm not sure when they ended up getting rid of the full-size spare. Maybe 02 was the first year?

You are correct.. The 20" Montreals came on the 02 XKR100. However, I'm sure you could have opted for them on the XJR 100 at the time, if you paid the extra money. Hell.. If you gave Jaguar enough money, they'd probably do a purple interior for you

The XJR-100's come with a space saver spare, most other Jaguars came with a spare that is the full size wheel to match the other 4. I used my "red" spare to keep the car on all 4 while it sat in the garage while the tire shop sent my Montreal to BBS for repair (they dinged the trim) no way I was driving on that thing!

As has been mentioned, it's not always that straight forward. Yes, chances are they're 19" Montreals, but they could also be optioned as 20's, or changed to the Perseus wheels too. Although that may have depended on how friendly you were with your dealer at the time

In case anyone's selling, I would love to get my hands on a set of either 18" BBS Milans, or 20" Perseus wheels

Haha... yeah slightly more than my budget. For Montreals anyway.
The Detroits I have were 180k yen, but shipping adds a lot on top as well

I dont have the full coverage on this car. so I have this car towed back home. car still has the clean title in my hands.

It is repariable if someone has time to do so. I dont have the tool to part out the car and I want to sell entire car to some . anywhere behind the radiator fan is not impacted.I will try to up load the photos

interior is all fine, so are the BBS Montreal rims, R1 Brembo set

I have a set of BBS Milans I could sell but shipping would cost as much as the wheels.
