Greetings. since 3 months im having a Old Problem Car on my Workingplace.

Itīs an 1997 XJR 6 cyl SC from Europe (NO EGR)

The Problem is that the Automatic Transmission donīt change to the second Gear. And the Transmission MIL is illuminated. Every other Thing is normal. It wonīt start in "D" position. It gives the Drive selector free if i press the Brakepaddle,

If i read the Troublecodes I get soon after engine start the P1775 (Transmission detects exaust fault) and the P1409 (EGR Fault, but itīs no EGR installed)

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Or we have to get the Beauty to the garbage,

 

This is the V8 forum. Post in the X300 forum for the I6 engine.

 

Maybe an admin can change the forum to the I6 engine section

 

I know it’s the wrong forum but I’m willing to bet that the ECM was changed from a USA spec car hence why it’s looking for an EGR system.

 

Nope, the car is since years in our garage. And the part number on the ECM ist correct for Europe after market.

I tried so much, checked plugs, oil and relays... Everything was fine.

But why I can't see the tcm in my wds. Only HVAC, ABS, ECM and IC are available.

I tried to start a new session and clicked NA engine. Not SC like the 1000 times before.
And now, there is a TCM available. I read the trouble codes, deleted it and the ECM trouble codes. And the ********************** Transmission MIL is disabled.

Test drive done and i this beauty runs. GREAT.

it seams like there was a signal trouble from the valve block. But it's gone and Iam so happy with it.
