Default Passenger seat module

My seat back will not motor forwards, and it seems like it is the control module.
Is there a workshop somewhere that fixes these things? or are they just disposed of and replacements ones put in routinely?
Thanks
Drew.

Swap driver and passenger modules to verify that is the problem. There have been numerous reports of damage to a circuit line on the board that is rubbed by the plastic case. Simple solder fix.

Thanks for the heads up,
I have tried the other module and it works fine.
Is it always the same track which goes?
I am also looking into the headrest controls, these appear to drive the motor but no movement on the actual headrest.
Cheers
Drew.

I have two complete front seats from a totaled 2001 XJ8. If you need pieces let me know.

The leather is shot but all of the mechanicals are good so I've been picking away at them. Most everything is still in them so I'll have at least one of what you need.

Default Passenger seat module.

Hi Ken,
Cheers.
How much would you want for the module?
I am looking into repairing the PCB track on mine but it looks very fiddly (and my eye sight is going the way of old things!)
Regards
Drew.

Member GUS has a wonderful DIY website: http://www.gusglikas.com/autorepair.htm

Click on the topic, "Seat control switch 95XK8" for detailed instructions with pictures. He was actually able to REPAIR the contacts on his switch! You probably have a different car, but his repair instructions still may apply. Give it a try; he maintains a remarkably helpful site for Jag owners!
