Just picked up a 1998 XJR and the passengers power seat is not working. It is stuck in a funky position lowest to the floor board. Drivers side seat works just fine. I am wondering what would be the most likely cause? I have read a couple things stating the seat module is a likely culprit for inoperable seats, but where is it located? I don't think I will be able to get to it if it is underneath the seat, due to the way the seat is stuck. Any suggestions?

 

The seat module is certainly the place to start and is bolted to the bottom of the seat with a couple 10mm bolts if I remember correctly. If you cannot get to it because of the seat height perhaps you can try unbolting the seat.

The first test is to swap with the driver seat. There is a retired Navy electronics technician out in San Diego that has been repairing them for a reasonable price.
