Default Is it possible to change the idle motor?

Hello,

My Jaguar XJ8 3.2 from 1999 had suddenly a rough idle. I heard a sound (something like a beep sound) comming from the throttle body before I start the engine. I took the car to my indy and he thinks that the idle motor is not working properly. He has cleaned the throttle body and tried a hard reset without any result. Next step is reading the codes. So my question is if it is possible to change only the idle motor or I will have to change the enterely throttle body (it is really expensive!). Any help would be really appreciated!

Check your sparkplugs and coils first.

Hi Plums,

My mechanich has checked both sparks and coils and they are fine. I would like to ask you if you remeber a post where there was a video showing this noise coming from the throttle body.

Thank you
