if the connectors are connected try unplugging the seat module and plugging it back in sometimes they get locked up.....only way to fix that problem though is to replace the module

I have the same problem.. the drivers side power seat does not work. Any thoughts on testing what the problem could be? The used dealer where I purchased the car thinks it may need a new module. where is this module located? and anywhere besides the dealer to purchase a new one?

I have good used seat modules in stock, and yes, you can remove the one from beneath the passenger's seat and test the circuit by plugging it in on the driver's side.

I don't think I ever met a Jaguar mechanic who was trying to steal bread off the table of a Kraut can mechanic.

I have the same issue and need a replacement module. If someone can give me a link or a PM on the cheapest/best place to get one from. Mine is for an 03 XJ8. Additionally, unless it sticks when there is no power/module bad the switch on the side of the seat (driver's seat) is stuck in the position to slide the seat backwards. I may need new controls also if someone knows where to get them.

Thanks,
Mark

Try cleaning the switch first. http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairS...trolSwitch.htm

I am having the same issues with the passenger seat. The switch clicks when pressed, but nothing happens. The fuses are ok. Does anyone know where to get new switches and how to replace them?

Dick, what year/model? Assuming it's similar to mine, if when pressing the switch you hear a click from somewhere away from the switch, it is not the switch. It will be the motor, the Seat Control Module, or the wiring in between them. I believe you can swap Seat Contol Modules from left to right to determine which.

Thanks, I swaped the modules and was able to adjust the seat so it is now comfortable.

And as driver, I believe it is your prerogative to KEEP the working module on your side!

I won't try to answer because our cars may be different.
On my '98 YM, the cover for the fuse box in the trunk has the fuse layout diagrams for all 5 of the car's fuse boxes!

Go figure!
Guess it's one of those ... "seemed like a good idea at the time."
