I'd like to try using ethanol free fuel, however, the only place that sells it in my town ONLY has 87 (R+M)/2. I want to see how it preforms with no ethanol (ethanol has roughly half the power of petrol when it combusts) so in theory you should also see better fuel milage.
I wonder though, would 87 (R+M)/2 ethanol free be okay for a tank? Not sure what, if any detergents it has. It also costs very nearly the same as 93 (R+M)/2 sold at some stations.

I need to check on some of the ethanol free stations in Virginia: most look like local airfields and marinas in the urban areas around DC, Richmond and Tidewater.

I am amazed how a simple post strictly about octane causes people to drag out all the myths about Satan Ethanol.

That's actually why I even have that site bookmarked. Primarily for places to grab extra E-free gas for the outboard on my sailboat. Most places near me though do offer Ethanol Free premium. Just sucks we have such a higher-than-most national average price on the stuff. Relative to the rest of the states, save a few, that is.

Default fuel

Actually looked at the sticker when I was filling yesterday. Says "use only 95 RON fuel"

We have been down this road before: requirement is
the same but different markets use different grading schemes: RON 95 is the same as US 91 octane.

The markings on your fuel flap, and in your Drivers Manual, will reflect the market in which the car was initially sold.
