Price Check - 1998 XJ8L w/ Broken Head Gasket and Faulty Power Steering pump
I regret to say I've got to let this car go. I have someone interested in buying the car to repair, but it's a friend of the mechanic and I'm getting lowballed at $400. I know from experience that parts cost an arm and a leg on this car, and despite the motor not working properly everything else is in decent shape for 155K.
I just need an idea of what price to set as my low end. I was hoping I'd be able to squeeze $900 out of a sale.
Thanks for the help.. I hope I can be a more permanent member of these forums one day, but I've got to switch to something more economical for now

If you have the time/space to part it out, you'll make a lot more that way. But in complete form, they rarely bring more than $1000 complete in my area. Just not much call. I recently picked up an XJR for parts in very good condition besides the bad transmission for $1100.
