Question for 4.0 SC Motor-Buffs
I have a 99 VDP with the SC option and I changed out my packs/plugs and noticed four plugs were sitting in oil.
99 VDP/SC Questions:
- Do the heads have to come off to do the valve seals? Any advice?
- Has anyone placed a killer-chiller in the bay and if so any advice?
I have a 98 XJR SWB and I would like to place a BC 500+ CU motor in it. No SC or etc. Just make a lot of torque and over 650HP. My BIL is an engine builder/engineer so he can make it work with electrical and the mechanicals. - I don't want to change the suspension/steering etc and cutting the hood defeats the purpose of having a sleeper.
98 XJR Questions:
- Any advice?
- Has it been done if so by whom? Specifics as far as what they did etc.
Thank you
Rlover

if the valve seal question was not related to the oil in the plug wells -
it is physically possible to replace the valve seals without removing the heads, but the dangers and risks far out weigh the price of a set of head bolts and gasket set.
