Does anybody happen to know what the dimensions of the radio inside of an 01 xj8? Like whats the height, depth and width? Is it even possible to change out the radio for a double din, like a touchscreen set-up? all help is appreciated.

 

Would be interested how you get on if you decide to go that route. Something I have considered.

 

Standard double DN will not fit, single DIN will. There's room for a single at the bottom half, but only a couple of inches behind the plate in the upper half.

 

Depending on which double din you choose, the shallower the better it will fit, but with modification. It depends on how much you want to do the conversion. To get the space you'd have to move the airbag module for clearance.
