Random alarm- door microswitch?

Default Random alarm- door microswitch?
My son's 98 XJ8 alarm goes off randomly. From searching here, it seems it may be bad door microswitches. Has anyone found an alternate part number?

Related question- can the car be locked without the alarm armed?

My neighbours will appreciate any input.

Have a look at this recent thread, he had alarm problems too.

These cars tend to break the wires which run along the boot hinge, and I think that was causing the problem in the above post
