Default Rattle me this

Lets play the name "Rattle" game from the interior. I have rattling noises coming from all over the place from the cabin while driving at low and high speeds, can you name the rattling points so I can look into fixing them. Defrost vents...what else?

if for any reason the little prongs that hold the door panels are missing or the screw from under the arm rest on the door panel is missing, it will rattle like crazy!

driving the 101, 118, 405, or balboa certainly won't help your cause either.

My only real interior rattle is from the overhead panel, in front of the sunroof.
Had it apart 3 times, but I will be damned if I know where exact.
It normally stops rattling if I try to determine the exact spot ...

An other cause might be the glove-box, rattling in its locking points.

Thanks all, good to know, I'll start there and will start to pin point them.

Many TSBs in the large file area (that no one reads).

Gus will have all my uploads as well on his site.

Those rattle kits look real useful to have for in general, not just for Jags. Too bad they only come in bulk shop size packs. Might still get a tube of that Krytox stuff online since it seems ideal to knock out the squeaks in plastics like the cupholder latch.

For rattles, my sunroof area has a rattle somewhere as well. Hasn't been bad enough to justify diagnosing it yet. Probably the broken check arm not holding the large interior panel properly (see my posts in one of the sunroof threads w pics). My driver's seat belt shoulder anchor (the sliding thing on the B pillar) squeaks since I hamfisted the thing off trying to R/I my B pillar interior cover, and cracked that sliding cover panel inside. The dash has a squeak somewhere when going over rumbly roads, like the whole dash is bouncing and rubbing against the windshield. Haven't found the confidence to pry at the defrost vents to diagnose it further. There's also a squeak in the back, think it's something with the parcel deck since it went away, but came back when I R/I'd the panel.

One of the bigger rattles I had was when I had recently done some work under the hood and left some sockets and bolts and junk in the tool compartment under the hood, and every time I made a hard turn it sounded like a bunch of marbles rolling around in the front.
