Default rear brake piston

I'M DOING A BRAKE JOB 98 XJ8.COULD ANYONETELL ME HOW TO GET CALIPER PISTONS BACK IN. I'VE BEEN TURNING BUT NOT MOVING. PLEASE HELP

Have you tried turning it the other way?

You need to turn turn and push to get the piston back in. There are
special tools to do it. Also on one side of the car you need to turn
it clockwise and push and on the other side of the car you need to
turn counter clockwise and push. I am not sure which side is which.

Also don't discount the fact that you may have a stuck caliper and
you will need to replace it but try the turn and push method first.

On the X Type at least, (I imagine they are all the same)the Right side while looking forward..turns in Clockwise (CW) and the Left side turns in Counterclockwise (CCW)..Also open the bleed nipple while you do this, as that will let the caliper piston retract easier....Don't forget to bleed the brakes when your done..
