Default Rear view mirror

So the old mirror is wearing out.
Any ideas for a replacement that won’t cost an arm and a leg?

a few places will rebuild the mirror with fresh auto-dimming internals. A search of "rearview mirror" will provide plenty of results. I can't remember who the most recent favored company is, but I think it might be radar-mirror or similar.

Try Sybesma’s in Holland, Mich. They do a lot of repair/rebuild/refurbish for Jags, BMWs and others. I’ve used them. I do understand there are rebuild kits available somewhere.

I just noticed that Svalbard is from Tokyo. I would imagine that somebody in Japan could rebuild it for you. If not, you’ll need to find a business at least on your side of the planet that does.

Different Continents have different repair options.

I wish people would disclose location on the planet so local advise would be relevant.
Intercontinental shipping is an option but sometimes cost is the determining factor?

Never tried but.............(see post #2)

Thanks very much for the feedback.
I guess I have to look into rebuild kits since I'm not in the US.

The same mirrors were used in some Honda/Acura models, which could be a much easier option for someone in Japan.

For what it's worth, when I had mine replaced (years and years ago) I sent mine to Sybesmas, and they were fantastic, even though I'm in New Zealand
