Hi
As I said in a nother thread I took my car in for its MOT test today. Another fault was "rear wheel bearings too loose"
Any advice on this? Sounds serious to me!

My front bearings are being changed at the shop tomorrow. That's another $2.200 down the drain with this car..

OK, thats approx. 1/5 of the price I'm paying. But I guess that's reasonable. I'm having it changed at Jaguar and according to them the front bearings are more complex to change and the Jaguar importer is just far more expensive than independent shops.
Here in Denmark they charge about $220 an hour or approx. 140 GBP.
Good luck with it.

if its anything like the xj40 rear bearings they are designed to be loose!
on the last xj40 I had I had to replace the hub assembly on the offside rear, took it for its test and had to "educate" the tester that they come with some play as standard!
It was only because he could see the hub was new that he believed me
and passed it.
