Default Rear window heaters not working

I've tried to search over the forum but I could find any related thread. As today was the first time my back window got ice since I've got my XJ8 I've never noticed before that my rear window heaters are not working.

I'm pressing the button "REAR" on the climate control, the green LED turns on, but even after 20 minutes the rear window was icy and even foggy inside. The first thing to do was to check the fuse but it's just fine. To be 100% sure I've changed it but the problem remains.

Has someone had this problem? Do you know where to look for?

You need to check to see if the window grid is getting power using a multimeter --if no -- - then go and check the relay. I can hear mine from the drivers seat when I turn it on -- sounds like it is coming from the panel under the rear seat -- although it could be from the trunk .......... but ...does not sound that far away.

I accidentally knocked the electrical connector off the rear windshield. When doing the headliner. May want to make sure the connector is still physically attached.

yeldogt I checked the relay - it's working as it should (and there is actually a sound I've never noticed before coming from behind) but no electricity at all when measuring with multimeter...

dneider today I'll check for this connector you're talking about.

dneider was right. The problem was with one of the electrical connectors. Unfortunately it wasn't disconnected, but cut... I had to do some soldering works to fix it. But still - it's fixed and it's working as it should.

Thanks ones again for the help.
