After changing oil, i open part load breather connector to clean it.. seating back the connector i broke the tube 3 inchs away from the connector.. I heard that its a pain ful job to replace it, thinking about sliding a couple of inches long rubber tube to connect both sides.. Any better idea or go with the new one.. its 1998 xjr 120k miles

After working at the dealer for years I have seen the most amazing and inventive repairs. The convoluted tubing was a common repair because the parts dept rarely kept the hose in stock and the routing was difficult to duplicate without removing the intake manifold. I would use a section of rubber hose and some sealant to manage a semi-permanant repair. It only has to hold a low vacuum and oil fumes so nothing fancy is required.
If the heater hoses under the intake ever leak then that would be a really good time to upgrade everything!!

It goes from the valve/cam cover under the intake manifold to a tee fitting on the throttle body elbow then to the evap control valve. I replaced mine when I had the intake manifold off.

It happened to me couple of weeks ago. I looked at the hose and it's routing, and decided I am not ready for this punishment just yet. Found a piece of black plastic pipe, that fits nicely in side the stupid hose. Cut off 1"1/2, stuck the thing in, taped it with the black electrical tape, and you can't even see the "repair". The Cat doesn't care, and there is no messages, about leaking vacum.
Once the intake manifold has to come off for other reasons, it will be the time to buy some length of the REAL vacum tubing (heavy duty rubber tubing!), and replace ALL vacum lines. This stuff Jaguar is using, is a joke.

I used 5/16" fuel line and ran it down the side of the intercooler. it also fits the fitting on the EVAC valve so I got ride of an extra connection.
Daniel, I only took of the throttlebody, but that's a PIA as you have to remove coolant hoses, which means you have to lower the coolant level.
IT NEVER ENDS.
I cut my hand on the power steering resovour (can't spell this morning) bracket so took that off and filed the corners, will this never end !!
