Why you mentioned to test my pumps. Secondary pump is dead. Primary works fine. Since the car works as always. I will not do anything in this summer.

Pull the relay in the boot & bridge the contacts, then you'll hear the secondary pump running in the tank if it works.

As for fuel, I believe it's pretty much the same quality, just the US uses a different measuring system so the octane numbers are lower. MON not RON, I think.

Don't floor the throttle too much then, it'll be running lean at high throttle with only one pump working. From memory the second pump comes in at near full throttle or over 4k rpm.

Your prowess to not permit you to go that route is saying your going to pull the tank into the boot?
The picture is from x300 froum iirc
It looks like it need more experience to cut that I'm not experienced with cutting I asked my mechanic to do the job but unfortunately he's out of the Town for while the cat will be at sleep sweet my jag

I did that. Secondary does not spin at all. I've heard that atleast Finnish gasoline should be great quality. But I don't know for sure. Since I just aquired working VCM1. I can now see short term and long term trims during wot.

It's easy to cut out the opening with a Dremel, although I would use a plug-in version or an air powered cut-off tool versus a battery powered tool (I used both).

By the way, the first post in the current thread linked below mentions fuel pumps replaced at 36,000 miles. Hellooo! There are many such references. Yes, Jaguar purchased pumps from vendors, but Jaguar failed at setting the required quality/longevity standards and requiring test data that proved the off-the-shelf parts were up to the task. Mine actually failed at 38,000 miles, not 40,000. PS: There are no structural issues with a hole the size of the one depicted in the first post of this string.

My guess is that anything that was outside the warranty period was
ok with them.
