Restricted performance 04 xjr
Good morning and thanks for the add. I just bought one of my dream cars,a beautiful 2004 xjr w/ 120k miles. I am getting a restricted performance oon the dash display and am limited to approx 3k rpm's. I pulled the codes and the only code I'm getting id's a p0171 code. System too lean bank one. I have looked for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner around the intake and also with propane. I can't find any leaks. Also checked the vac lounges. The car runs like a dream below the 3k rpms. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I'll double check the injectors and check for exhaust leaks today.
When we’re the o2 sensors changed?
Check the o2 sensor connections.
Also, check the MAF..
120/m is the point where all of these need to be changed.
Had a similar problem.
Changed the MAF and boom, the magic was back.

thanks rpach, I ordered a new maf sensor and bought both o2 sensors for the right bank. I will try just the maf before the o2's. I'll let you know this weekend.
I would like to upgrade the stereo. I have any 04 xjr w/ nav. The touch screen works but the display scrolls and is jittery until it warms up then it's fine. Is it possible to upgrade? The touchscreen is also used for climate, nav, and system settings.
You'll probably have more luck getting help with the stereo in the correct forum

Ok. I changed the maf sensor. The problem originally was around about 90% of the time. Rarely was it non existent. after changing the maf the problem is only astound around approx 50%of the time. I guess ill go ahead and replace the o2 sensors.

I replaced the MAF sensor and saw a slight improvement. I then replaced the upstream O2 sensor and as of today the problem 100% gone. This was the first time I drove the the car for and hour without any problems. My check engine light is staying off also. P0171 code is gone.
