Default Restricted Performance

I have a 1999 XJ8 4.0 automatic with 87,000 miles with check engine light on , and restricted performance I went to my local auto parts store and got the following codes , p1313 (ignition coil D) c1175 (nothing came up/no description ) p1316 (spark plugs) p03554 (ignition coil D again) and finally p1111 (maf sensor)

So I'm thinking of changing the spark plugs ( wich are 2 years old) and if that doesn't work changing out ignition coil D , and if all fails cleaning maf sensor. Any suggestions on what I should try first ?? Oh an if anyone has the firing order so I can see which one is ignition could D that would help out a lot , p.s it goes in and out of restricted performance mode every once and a while it normally drives fine . Thanks really appreciate any help

You will have to be sure that you check the descriptions against the Jaguar specific ones, as there is some variation over different brands.

The ignition codes are probably related, perhaps coil related.
You can switch a coil and see if the code follows the switch.

I think the C1175 code is indicating the LH Rear Wheel speed sensor.

The P1111 is a semi-permanent code (no fault) indicating the emission system has past all internal tests, and follows the initial P1000 code before all systems pass (you will always find either P1000 or P1111 after a reset).

It is always a good idea to clear the codes, and see if they come back.

Look the codes up in the jag doc. P1313 & P1316 are misfires causing cat conv damage.

Ok I swapped ignition coil D for ignition coil B too see if it was the actual coil d that was faulty , but I still got a cylinder 4 misfire the guy at autozone told me it might be a bad fuel injector or bad spark plugs ?

I changed my spark plugs , checked all the fuel injectors , could a weak battery also cause a restricted performance warning light ? Also I found some engine oil inside the pvc vale that leads to the maf sensor is that normal ?

Modern cars do not like bad power. Can even cause misfires.

Yes, a weak battery, and bad earth points (ground) will play hell with your car.

It's after the fact but keep in mind that many of the counter people at Autozone or similar last held a job asking 'y'all want fries with that?' and are not experienced car types.

Eddie...
CAUTION to all....The cylinder diagram that you posted does agree with diagrams previously posited on Jaguar Forms.
The diagram eddie forwarded from United Componients seems to be NOT VALID nor Correct.., when compared to previous postings
This is the Jaguar bulletin diagram ... as can be found on here on jaguar forum:
