Yes that is the issue and what I posted at the beginning of this thread?
The engine had an air leak which makes the engine run too lean. The computer saw that adjusted things and set the too lean codes you saw? The system worked as designed?

This is EXACTLY why you follow the codes and what the system is trying to tell you. Stop guessing and figuring based on what people "think" is the problem. Those days are LONG gone!

Those accordion sections really hide the cracks and are always a suspect. Now be aware that all that plastic will keep cracking because of age and movement of the engine.

To the PCM the holes you showed are HUGE and ruining the very carefully measured air figures (& thus the fuelling).

Bear in mind by law many codes such as P0171/4 are 2-trip. That's 2 warm ups. Starting & restarting a few times does not add any trips.

The PCM will notice much tinier holes than you have and be unable to run the engine as designed. (Almost all this stuff is by law. Jaguar just try to do as required and when they got it wrong paid the USA a fine plus had to fix stuff.)
