Default Mina tube

I have it and I am thinking of making my own from 3.5”
tubing just modeling it after theirs anyone have thoughts on that ? Seems like it’s what should have been done long ago. Otherwise I’d just rather go back to the OEM one.

How big is the OEM intake? I wrote up the reply below then realised the post I was replying to is from almost ten years ago haha, but maybe the info is useful for you...

11.039 / 7.065 = 1.56

So its an improvement even over the 3.5" tube, but with having reducers on each end I am not sure if that increased surface area will matter much. And I think it would be quite difficult to try and fit a 4 inch tube there, so 3.75 would be about as big as I would try to go.
You could put a 12" tube in there to chase "improvement" on paper, but the airflow will always be limited by the smallest part of the system.... if the MAF is 3.5" then that will be the part that limits the airflow regardless of a 3.75" or 4" or 12" tube.

Changing the pipe diameter also changes the air speed... the air will slow down as it leaves the 3.5" MAF and expands to fill the larger tube, then speed up again when it's pulled into the smaller TB... this can create unpredictable and often undesirable results. There's MUCH more to sizing an airflow system than just "bigger is better" so, unless you have a dyno and can properly test the results, it's often best to leave it alone. BUTT DYNO DOES NOT COUNT 😂
