Default Reving problem XJR

So my battery died this moring and now hat I've charged it when I hit the pedal in park and hold it revs to about 3rpm then back down to about 1rpm over and over again, what is going on now? Haha

rev limiter in P & N is 3K

Thank you I wondered about that but I've never had a car do that before, obviously my first jag.

Mine does the same & I thought it was a fault as well, until I learned about the 3k static rev limiter when in 'P' or 'N'. It's not mentioned in the handbook-only in the Jaguar Technical Description documents which describe in detail the operation of the engine management systems...

My supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix did the same thing as well. I think it is to limit boost to the engine wehn there is no load on it.
