Default Right Front Passenger Door Lock

Does the right front passenger door lock have an individual fuse/relay that is associated with it. I've tried lubricating the lock and it won't work. I can hear the mechanism working inside and when I push it down mechanically I can here it attempt to lock the rest of the doors. I hoping to avoid having to replace the entire door lock actuator (GNA1080DG). Jagbits sells them for about 400 new and 250 used.

No No No! Don't buy it!

Seriously I had the same problem with a lock on my Xj, and got a used lock mech on ebay for £20. I even posted directions on how to do the job here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=32658

Its dead easy to do, and doesn't take very long. I wouldn't pay that much for such a simple part. I'm in Britain so used British Ebay, but even if you bought from them and had it shipped to the U.S. it wouldn't even come close to that price!

Seriously I wouldn't pay that silly amount. S.

From the XK8 fuse chart there are 3 fuses associated with the passenger door. I suspect yours is similar but no guarantees. Since fuse charts are sorely lacking in owner documentation, Jaguar obviously thinks that fuses are beyond the technical level that owners need to be concerned with.

On the XK8/R the passenger (US) fascia panel has:
#2 labeled as Door Locking Actuators,
#4 as Door Switch Packs, and
#15 as Passenger Door Control Module.

If you would like the charts send me a PM with your external email address.

I had the same issue with my 99 xjr...ended up replacing the lock with an ebay used lock for $100. Works great...what a pain in the neck is was before...worth every penny.
