Rock Hard Suspension!!!

Hi everybody,

I just joined altho I've had my XJR V8 for 3 years. (Fantastic !!!)

The car's a '98, done 70,000m. The computer (a coupla thousand of miles ago) gave me an error message that the Suspension was weird. (Don't know the exact translation coz I bought the car in Germany, so it speaks German!)

Anyway, the result was that the springs went totally solid, at full height. Kinda like a 400hp go-kart.

Now the error is there all the time and the springs don't spring no more. (Sounds like a song...) Great on bends but shaking the car to pieces. Now the error message is there all the time ('DÃ¤mpfunsystem GestÃ¶rt').

Just sometimes, the message goes away and the suspension comes back - makes me suspect it's something small.

The local dealer (I'm in Spain) is useless. Has anybody got any idea?
