seat adjustment
Always little niggles when you buy another car?? The drivers seat will adjust the seat up/down at the front but not the rear. The passenger seat operates correctly. I can hear the motor working, so it would appear that something has come adrift. Are these seats easy to remove so I can fix it? Thanks Bill W.
In sorta reverse order;
The seat is easy to remove . . . as long as the front/back movement works. Remove two bolts up front, move seat forward and remove two bolts at the rear. Unplug the seat control module connectors and pull the seat out. Getting it out of the car is the hard part. I would use a piece of carpet secured in place to protect the lower door sill plate. A second pair of hands is also handy to ensure you don't punch a hole into something that doesn't need another hole.
The first thing I would do is to swap the seat control modules with the passenger side to ensure that it is a seat motor problem and not the control module. The SCM has a much higher failure rate than the motor and drive mechanism.
. . . and welcome to the forum.
