Seat heater not working
Ok, I located the relay for the driver seat heater. How do I know the relay is bad? Why else would the heater not work? Front passenger heater works. Don't know about back heaters.
Also, What is the red light on the shift gate?
60K service at dealer= $755
Included new wiper that doesn't fit-jacka**es
replaced leaking coolant cap
new bushings for front end
frayed wire for trunk light
Not too bad for my expectations
Thanks,
Tom

The drivers and passenger seat heater relays should be the same. Try swapping the drivers seat heater relay with the passenger seat heater relay. If the drivers seat heats up...get a new relay. If not it could be the actual seat heater pad inside the seat. The seat heater pad is a thin wire with a measured resistance that simply heats up due to current passing through. If over time, people sitting in and getting out of the drivers seat, that wire may break. This causes the circuit to open and not heat. They can be replaced or even fixed.
Not sure about the red light.

The red light on the shifter is the security LED. Will blink when vehicle is locked and in an armed state.
If you are having starting problems, first thing to do is look and see if that red light is on constant.

So, I finally got off my lazy as* and lookedunderneath the seat today and realized the problem wasn't with the relay after all. The damn wires were sheared off at the connectors! After much befuddlement and a little input from my next door neighbor (he works on Porsches), I simply clipped the connector off and hard wired the connection. Now I only hope that there are a few more chilly mornings on the way so that I can enjoy driving in to work with a toasty lazy as*!

LOL. Glad you found the problem. That was an easy one.

Easy except for feeling pain in various obscure parts of my body while contorting myself in the back seat.
The gain was worth the pain this morning though.
