For a 1998 VDP (XJ8), why do both AutoZone and Advanced Auto Parts list a bulb for the front side marker light but none for the rear side marker?

 

You're unlikely to get a response to this question posting it on the end of a 12 month old Intro.

I've moved it to X308 section where members with the same model should have the answer.

Rear side marker? Are you talking about the taillight housing which also acts as the rear side marker or the reflector in the rear bumper casing which is just a reflector (no bulb)?

 

my 98 has bulbs in the rear side markers. They are same as the front. The bulb is a bulb commonly used in alot of cars. 194a. You just pry off the cover and change the bulb. Easy.

 

The side marker light is located in the side of the rear bumper. I know it has a bulb in it because maker light the other side lights up. Thanks for your help. I'll pick up a 194A bulb.

Thanks for the diagram Jim and your input Wazari.
Both Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts charge almost $6 per bulb for the side marker light. Pretty expensive for a little light bulb.

Try calling your local Jaguar Dealership Parts Department.
The side marker bulb part number is C2S15074020 - online Jaguar Dealership Parts shows it msrp price of $1.20. SNG USA online price is $0.54 (old part# DBC11381) plus shipping (probably US mail on small parts).
Even if your local dealership marks the msrp up another 50% it only would be $1.80.
