I hope at least they managed it without damaging your hood... sometimes I think it's a shame that we're not allowed to electrify certain things even if limited to high-voltage low-amperage non-lethal installations.

I was hand washing my car not too long ago and the leaper leaped off my hood. Instead of messing with the cable and spring, I decided to take the leaper to Ace Hardware. I went down the specialty fasteners isle and after a few minutes of rootin around all those boxes, I found 2 small, tapered, flathead machine screws that fit on the underside of the base. So the base has 2 holes in it and the leaper has threaded holes on the underside so you can rigidly mount the leaper to the base. I do not remember the thread and pitch size of the screws unfortunately but, at least your parts car has one on the hood?

Luckily the base is fine. I thought my parts car came without a leaper until I pulled the seats and found one underneath. So I have a base and a leaper to connect.
