Be worth flying out and driving it home (with a few extra days leeway if it doesn't start)

We have seen this car before; belongs to a forum member. Memory, which is failing, starting problem was a key that needed reprogramming?

The wife would kill me if I bought another non-running car.
Especially one 2500 miles away..

Default Not too far

867.1 miles away.

If I still had my car trailer, it would be tempting.

Car will not start all the time. Particularly in cold weather. It just turns over & over.
My bet is one failed pump and one iffy pump.

If it starts, don't turn it off until home.

+1

That's certainly top of my list of possible culprits.

Here's the Ad because the thread will still be here long after the Autotrader link has disappeared.

If it does belong to a member, I hope they have another go at fixing it rather than give it away for the that price.

Ugh! It is only a two hour drive for me! But I already have an '03 XJR. Do I need another XJR??? A Xmas present for me perhaps? I bet you the coolant temperature sensor went bad, which is why the hard starting. A cheap fix, hehe....

+1 temp sensor (not sure where it sits on the SC model), really easy repair if that is the case.

It is mounted on the coolant aluminum crossover pipe and is on top of the engine front and center. It is got to be the easiest engine part to replace on a Jag!

The plot thickens, my associate in Ca. is going to inspect it Monday. He is fairly familiar w/ this era of X308s so this will hopefully shed some light on this mysterious cat lol.
