Haven't found anything on this but, are the control switches on the steering wheel suppose to be back-lit? if so how do you change them

 

According to the 2003 XJ8 wiring schematics they do not show any illumination of the steering wheel radio control switches . Does't mean there is none as they may have been left out of the schematics and not covered . If you were to pull it apart and see some it may be a called grain of rice or larger grain of wheat bulb ( comes in 12 and 3 volt )

 

The buttons are NOT backlit on the X308 steering wheel.

 

That’s odd bec what if you’re trying to set or adjust the speed control at night? Radio no biggie.
the clock is illuminated I assume- I must have a bad light bulb as that’s the only gauge or control then that doesn’t light at night

 

The top button is plus, the bottom is minus...the middle is cancel....
I don't think it could get much more tactile than that, however if you
are desperate to see the buttons, get a flashlight because Jaguar
engineering did not provide any.
