Sunroof Gutter
I have a 1999 VDP with a sunroof which operates fine except the rain gutter portion of the sunroof is not connected to the main panel. When you open the roof the Gutter panel remains back in the cavity in the roof. How are these two supposed to be connected? I cannot find a drawing depicting the part that would couple them together. Need some help here.
Now I learned the importance of this panel being in place and its function when I first ran through a car wash. I though there was a missing part but did not realize its function. Those carriages are awfully slow moving you through the wash!

Download and open, then Section 501-17 should assist you... http://goo.gl/Xa5wU ...it should be the very detailed X308 workshop manual. Other than that, there's the excellent 'how to' pinned thread at the top of this forum to review issues and repairs.

Please read TSB 501-26 Sliding Roof – Diagnosis & Repair.
The Drain Channel Support has become disconnected from the tilt/slide Main Lever assy.
The bell crank lever arm has a pin to engage the Drain Channel Support.
That is where you will find your fault.
