Suspension Parts & Headliner
Hi Guys - My dad has an 03 XJ8 w/ 82k. He bought the car used and little by little has been doing various things to the car. While driving w/ him, I heard a clunking in the front suspension and after reading the various posts, I know the sway bar bushings, sway bar links and the shock mount bushings can be the culprits (I already see the shock mount bushings in the engine compartment are deteriorating - one side worse than the other). My question is I already looked up the shock mount bushings from Motorcars Ltd but I noticed the other parts have a wide price range. Do you recommend a specific brand for the sway bar links and bushings and which seller? My dad just plans on changing all 3 parts, assuming the mechanic doesn't find any other items worn out while on the lift.
Also, the headliner is sagging in the rear seat of the car. Can a regular auto upholstery specialist fix this? Is there something that really needs to be swapped out/changed? Are there any special tools that are needed?
Thanks to all who answer!
