Default Is there a difference? Between an XJ and an XJR rear A-Frame?

Just trying to figure this one out. I need to buy one and there doesn't seem to be too many options out there for XJR models. If its the same part and bolt pattern, then Kool beans! If you have a thought about, please feel to share it. Thanks

The XJR subframe bushings (the big ones in the lower A-frame) are stiffer than the XJ8 bushings (they have one less hole or something). Most people say to go with the XJR bushings since there's not much noticeable NVH difference.

The XJR ones get the rear sway bar. I believe the xj8 assemblies have provisions for the sway bar so it can just bolt in, but I'll defer that to someone else. I also don't remember if that bolts to the lower A frame or elsewhere.

Hi Nicdilla,

The most authoritative place to compare part numbers for the XJ8 and XJR is at jaguarclassicparts.com, the parts service of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. If the part number for the XJ8 subframe is the same as for the XJR, you're good. If not, there is some difference you will have to research further.

Cheers,

Don

I think I already answered this in his buzzkill thread - The Jaguarclassicparts also confirms the bits required. When replacing the A frame bushes, make a note of which way the slots in the rubber point, I can't remember if it's the large slot at the front...

The sway bar kit just bolts on, renew the bushes.
Keep your shocks and springs, check for wear on the lower shock bushes, may as well renew.
