Question Thermostat Housing or Gooseneck Leaking

I took my Jaguar in for a check-up today at VIP, mainly to find out why there was still oily residue in my Air Filter box after installing a new one and checking that the PVC Valve was intact. Anyhoo, verdict is--that I may need to clean out my PVC Vacuum Line? Anyone ever done this? Also, my engine coolant has or was running low, and they traced this back to the Thermostat Housing--and what they call the "Goose Neck". Can one of you
"Techs" out there tell or even better "show" me what this is in a pic--and perhaps give me a suggestion of where to buy a new one or if its "patchable?"

I can only assume they are speaking about one of the two parts highlighted in this photo? Click attachment to see larger.

I've read somewhere on the forum that the part on the right (Thermostat Housing) was made of plastic originally and failed easily. Mine was already changed out to metal before I bought it. The photo is showing a 1999 XJR, not sure how it would apply to other models.

Can someone verify that I'm actually looking at the correct parts? I looked up the thermostat housing on parts sites, and they look nothing like what I'm pointing out. I hope I'm not leading him astray.
