I am not sure if this should be classified under Throttle issues, but i'll start here and some one can help point me in the right direction.

1999 XJ8 Vanden Plas

After running about 10-15 mins normally, my car just suddenly runs at a constant speed with high rpm without my foot on the gas pedal. Its like the car has taken over on Cruise control. Even when i press the brakes, the rpm is running and if i release the brakes, it will go back to same speed.

Any electronic glitch ? or is this a bigger problem ?

Not sure if this is related, but these happened around or close to the same time the above issue surfaced.

1. driver side window wont roll down.
2. I saw the ASC failure light on one time, but i have never had that light come on again. So it may not be related.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
