Default Time to say goodbye ?

Hi guys my 2002 xj8 have ac system leak and the problem is the ac evaporator ist worth fixing it or It's better to sell it ?

Its a $100 part, the cost will be capturing your A/C coolant (if you have any left), and/or replenishing it. Then after getting that cost totaled (which shouldn't be too bad), its up to you to determine the value of doing it. Just make sure a qualified person does the air work.

Hi ray . I know the part is not expensive . What about the labor cost ?

All shops have a labor rate to quote with. Just go to a brand name place and ask, they should even print you out the quote. Usually an inde' shop will get you a better price and allow you to buy the parts. I don't know national repair shops that will do that.

Here's a Bing search quote from repairpal.com....
The average cost for AC evaporator replacement is between $836 and $1,078. Labor costs are estimated between $513 and $648 while parts are priced between $323 and $431. This range does not include taxes and fees, and does not factor in your unique location.

1000$ ! I will sell the car or I will keep it for winter drive only as there's no ac in it .
