Wrapped up my timing kit install today. XJR runs awesome and so quiet. The old guides were cracked. Tensioners were cracked but still intact. The chains were obviously stretched and I think the tensioners were maxed out. Glad that worry is over. Now i know what was in the and now gone.

If you dont know the condition of your timing components, go ahead and replace.

I got my kit at Motorcarsltd.com.

I worked on it off and on over a 2 day period. A couple of collant bleed hose connectors were not so cooperative. Had to get those. Supercharger belt was worn out. Replaced it.

Kits vary. I got the one that had updated metal tensioners ,new guides and chains. Came with timing cover gaskets and new crank seal.

kit retails for about 500-600 depending on where you get it. You will also need valve cover gaskets and sealing rings.
