transformation continues!
part way through chasing the rust
finished!
The project continues.....its been really good for self development as i have had to try lots of new skills that are totally out of my comfort zone.
Haven't welded or fabricated metal since college in 1987 but had to have a go again as I have had a real problem getting hold of an outer sill.
Pleased with the way its coming on.
This is the before and after pics after the outer sill (and all the inner sill) work was finished
I cant wait to move on from bodywork and get back to the usual mechanical stuff im more comfortable with!!
That's a repair to be proud of!
I went back to Jaguar about another bodyshell, they'd disposed of them to a parts specialist who I then contacted (wanted to build a Coupe version) and they told me they'd cut the sills and sold them, scrapping the rest!!! An utter travesty!

Yes definitely. I couldn't get an outer sill from anywhere and a lot of breakers yards don't want the hassle of cutting sections out...so i was stuck!
did you ever build the coupe version by the way?
