hell JF I am currently looking for transmission cooler lines for a 1999 xjr.

I thought about getting it from a salvage yard (land dismantle)
but how many lines am I looking at I know one goes on top of the bell housing and one runs underneath.

I am replacing my Tran and I am doing my homework to save a few bucks scouting for these parts.

please help.

 

two lines, input and output to the cooler at the front of the car. Give the local agent a call just out of curiosity and see how much new ones are.

 

Which is the input and which is the output?

 

If it is the same as xj8, the lower one is from the torque converter, and the upper is the return.

 

Does this make the homework any easier?

As Sean B suggests, it's always worth checking the dealer cost first to get a ball park figure when sourcing parts.
