Transmission/Cooling Line challenge

Transmission/Cooling Line challenge
I put my 2001 Vanden Plas into a local transmission shop to have the transmission looked at. If you didn't come to a complete stop and then took off, it would jar into gear. They transmission shop said it needed a transmission rebuild and the car had 150,000 miles on it, so I authorized them to do the work. They called me and said I needed the flex disc replaced and the Driver Side engine motor mount replaced. So I authorized them to do this work. I got the car back on the 1st of June and took it on a trip from Seattle to Pittsburgh and south through Wichita Kansas. On June 24th, the car started dumping transmission fluid from just inside the driver's side front wheel. The transmission shop in Seattle had the car towed to a local shop where they determined that the transmission cooling line was rubbing on the frame and had rubbed a hole in the line. The leak is just below where the drivers side engine mount was replaced.
The transmission shop is claiming that this is normal wear and tear and is not covered under their warranty. If it is normal wear and tear, I have no problem paying for it.
My question is for anyone with experience in this area. Is this normal wear and tear? Did Jaguar design these lines to be that close to the frame that they would rub a hole it the line? Or were these lines moved or changed position during the work that these guys did to the car?
I've put 50,000 miles on this car since I purchased it and I can't imagine that if it was rubbing all along that it wouldn't have failed before now. But I could be wrong.
Anyone have who has knowledge of this system and the work done, please share your insights.
Thanks!
Charlie
