Default transmission fault

I got a p0730 fault incorrect gear ratio took my car tona transmission shop. They pulled the pan and found debri in it so i bought a used trans with 60k miles had them put it in. Well left shop today got about 5 miles down the road and got exact same code. I cant see that i got another trans and it is bad also could their be any other reason i would get this fault?

I would have said your speed sensors on the 722.6 tranny electrical conductor board went bad, but if you got the same error on a replacement tranny, then it has to be the TCM (transmission control module).

I replaced the tcm today and still no different got the transmission fault again. I have noticed that my asc light will come on and if i get the trac not available fault then the trans fault never comes. I have cleaned all 4 wheel sensors i took the abs module out and checked the soldering points they were fine. I cannot figure this problem out i love this car and plan to keep going until i solve it. Any more ideas anyone?

Find a foreign car shop that can read all the jag codes, like IDS or even Autoenginuity. Then you will know whsat ABS and transmission codes are stored.

Okay, I am now seriously confused. You replaced the transmission, the TCM, the only thing left is the gear shifter, but that may not be related to P0730. I do not know what else to tell you except to take it into a transmission shop or a Mercedes shop (They know 722.6 trannys pretty well). Otherwise see this:
